Hatha Yoga is the most popular form of yoga in the Western world. It is the physical and energetic path of yoga. Hatha Yoga is a branch of Raja Yoga, the path of control of the mind through meditation. It works with the physical body and is considered to be a preparation for the practice of Raja Yoga. Hatha Yoga is the practice of postures, also called asanas, to increase flexibility, strength, and balance. Classes are 90 minutes long and consist of pranayama, breathing exercises, postures, and relaxation.
