Integral Yoga or Purna Yoga in Sanskrit, practiced at Lotus Blau is based on Sri Aurobindo’s Yoga, and is influenced by Gene Gebser and Ken Wilber. Integral Yoga combines the branches of Jnana, Bhakti, and Karma Yoga, as well as a personal development path.
Jnana Yoga at Lotus Blau is a synthesis of Ramana Maharshi’s and Nisargadatta’s Advaita Vedanta, and Aurobindo’s Purna Advaita. This path is practiced in a classroom setting through readings, exercises, and meditations once a week, but is also put into practice in daily life through exercises, making the Jnana yoga path an integral part of one’s life.
Bhakti Yoga at Lotus Blau moves in the devotional path, and is very much tied to Jnana Yoga, connecting with the individual “I AM” of every person. The devotion in the Bhakti path is towards all beings, connecting with the Absolute through all beings. At Lotus Blau, Bhakti Yoga is practiced through daily exercises, as well as at retreats, workshops, and through Kirtan.
Karma Yoga is a very important part of Integral Yoga, and it is put into practice on a daily bases through service and projects, as well as working towards a deeper understanding of concepts of “service” and “care” and the many implications that they have, as a very essential part of Karma Yoga.
At Lotus Blau Integral Yoga there is also a path of personal development and perfectioning, geared towards a deeper connection with the higher parts of the mind and the personality. Personal development at Lotus Blau is practiced during Applied Philosophy consultations, and through introspection exercises carried out throughout the day. |
